Daily Duties at City Of Shawnee, Ok:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital, as well as assist in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports summarizing current and projected financial positions • Prepare written reports to be presented to the City Manager, City Commission and various other boards and authorities • Review contracts, orders, vouchers and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement • Apply modern office practices and principles to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity • Establish and modify documents and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures, devise and implement manual or computer-based system for general accounting and governmental accounting • Prepare financial statements of previous year to meet requirements of City, County and State governments • Coordinate activities of other accountants and clerical workers performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks who work under supervision of the City Treasurer-Finance Director • Prepare departmental budget and monitors expenditures • Assist in preparing the comprehensive annual financial report to meet GASB 34 reporting requirements • Supervise project accounting for grants and construction projects • Supervise the preparation of bank reconciliations and related general ledger entries • Other duties as assigned
