MY ROLE WAS TO TRY AND MAKE A CONNECTION WITH THE INMATES AND THEIR FAMILIES IF PATIENTS HAD FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY. MY OTHER ROLE WAS TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CAN LEARN HOW TO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY WITH A SEVERE AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS.
