Daily Duties at Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.:
In my experience as a Process Engineer at Jacobs Engineering Group, my main focus was with the upstream group (Oil & Gas Market) to execute process design work for gas gathering facilities for the client BHP Billiton and BHP Petrohawk. The process design work included the modeling of the pre-existing facilities to the client’s needs/wants, but to precise standards using Aspen, equipment and pipeline sizing to exact standards using Jacobs’ spreadsheets. In these different tasks I verified if the facilities could support the client’s desired yield of gas output. With these verifications new PFD’s and P&ID’s were constructed to the clients approval to perform a HAZOP. While the HAZOP was performed any other changes that needed to be made to facilitate the clients were taken into account, as needed for the project to be a success.
