To estimate a structural steel package you have to know the weights of all the beams in the structure to size the crane to pick the weight from a certain area on the job site. Also you check your jobsite to what area you are able to set at. The closer you can get with a small crane the cheaper your cost of crane rental. Fuel cost you have to estimate your cost on the equipment of fuel or maintenance you will be using. So in order to do that you must figure out how many pieces you can set in a day. Then you can figure out your erection time and when you can get rid of your cranes. A time frame was up to me to give a lot of input on how long activities would take because of the amount of time I spent in the field and the writing of time sheets. Engineering problems preformed them in the schedule and still did not hold anything up.
