Daily Duties at American Management Services:
To perform and objective analysis and overview of a business to identify its strengths and weaknesses as they pertain to operations, managment and their corresponding relationship to profit. Travel 90%, working with a vartiey of industries, service, distribution, mfg. A business operations analyst works out of an office. The analyst typically works 40 hours a week. The duties include creating a system to audit different processes of a company or business. This is usually accomplished by creating audit or compliance reviews of each department based on managerial guidelines. For example, the business operations analyst may have a schedule in which she spends a week or two examining the efficiency of a financial management branch. To measure efficiency, the business operations analyst uses measurements for her particular department based on what was stated in the strategic plans created by executive management. A business operations analyst should possess skills in research, audit and problem solving. The position requires an individual who can use logic when reviewing all business processes. The individual must be able to plan and coordinate scheduled review with managers of various departments. A business operations analyst also needs to know the latest procedures for determining the effectiveness of business operations and must be able to communicate to management through superior written and oral communicative skills. Software skills are a must, especially software that provides statistical analysis of a business process. A business analyst must also be able to recognize positive or negative trends concerning the effects of production on a business.
