Daily Duties at Tek Systems:
Daily duties at TEK Systems. Project Coordinator and Quality Control Auditor. (Lowe’s Experience of the Future- MCC/AP project. Media Conversion Chassis/Access Points) Participated in the planning of the execution of this major IT/Facility initiative in 1750 Lowe’s stores in US and Canada. Project installed 8 new MCC (fiber-copper) in each store and 27 new Motorola Access Points (650 and 7131)in each store. Each store was rewired with Corning fiber optic cable to provide Gigabit connectivity and the ability to have WiFi available to all Lowe’s customers. Managed a team of national contractors and their field staff. Tracked all materials and tested connectivity as they were completed. Reacked all progress in a Sharepoint database and made specific recommendations on pulling the 8 month, $400M project back on track and budget. Contracted Electrical vendors as needed to provide additional “critical” clean power, if there was not enough to support the initiative. Produced electric room drawings for each location necessary ro add new clean-power circuits. At the end of the project, I performed an audit of 500 sites to insure quality control, and critique the work of each of the 7 vendors that participated. Graded all contractors and made specific recommendations as to the future use of the contract companies.
