Daily Duties at Sapa Aluminum:

Scheduled production orders for Fabrication and presses. Entered customer orders into the AS400. Ordered material and supplies using the Oracle system. Answered e-mails from the sales department about customers orders. Actknowleged orders dates from customers. Expedited order for key accounts. As a scheduler I started my day out by running a unkowledge (customer orders that needed to be approved by date) report. I would then look at the prodcution schedule to see what was completed and what order still need to be complete.I then would run customer order by due date report the see how far out each press is on orders by caluating what each press can produce each day by hour. Then I would update my excell spreadsheet to see how far out I can acknowlede the new customer orders. i also had to look at custmors who have blocked time for each week ( so much pounds per week that they can order). then i would run a acknowleged report that I used to schedule the presses by date. Keeping in mind the orders that required special packing requirements or going to the fab dept. to be punched which would take more time to complete the order. Also had parts that needed to go to a outside vendor to be painted or anoidized. i also would followup with these vendors weekly to see when the part will be completed and then have shipping schedule to pickup the completed parts to fill the order for the customer. i also let the pressed know what type of alloy to use for each order. (6005,6061 or 6063). i also would have meeting daily/weekly (commuction meeting) with customer service and sales department to go over the status of orders and what customer are ordering daily. I also helped all customers who wanted there orders moved up or pushed back or cancelled. I took each schedule to the die shop and went over it with the die shop manager or supervisor to start setting up the dies for the schedule. The went over each schedule to insure that the die were here and not broken or missing. If they were broke or missing I would report this to the customer sevice depart and then push the date of deliver back to when it would be completed. i also had to make sure the alloy (raw material) that the customer order required was avialbale as well. Had dialy meeting with production and supply chain manger to go over production problems and solve them. Problems arranged from broken or lost dies to incomplete orders to lost parts from packing or shipping department. Also not enough supplies to make the part (raw material) to not enough packing supplies to pack the parts. This was all part of being on time to the customer. I also followed all FSA,OSHA and DOT rules and was part of the reward employees team. Determines what parts to produce and when. I would decide which products to build and prodcution line that will produce them. Keep track of production numbers and anticipated problems that could affect the order information and available inventory quantities. Planned prodcution dates by beginnign with the date of material and available for prodcution or by working back from the customer due date. Created the manufacturing schedule and monitored it thoughout the month to ensure on time delivery of prodcut to customers. I builded daily schedules to be used thourghout the month to meet the monthly goal. Monitored the prodcution schedule during the month and made changes when necessary, such as when resoureces do not arrive as planned or when equipment fails. Monitored inventory levels and also planned monthly cycle counting activities. Head up monthly physical inventory. I scheduled samplings and prodcution runs to comply with customer delivery requirements and docucented activities. Monitors monthly financial/job costing and helps initiate cost improvements. Create and present sampling schedule in weekly debug meetings and timely distribution to appropriate personnel. Work with Operations Manager to create a schedule which results in efficient machine utilization in concert with production run schedule. Receives and enters all Purchase Orders from customers in DTR system. Orders may be received by fax, mail, verbally, or EDI. Creates Work Orders for changeovers, (as needed), per customer requests and requirements. Insures that runs are prioritized for on time delivery, raw material is available as schedules are created. Creates estimates for customers regarding sampling and requotes on existing piece price and short production runs. Schedule production runs to insure parts are produced and delivered on time. Works with Division Manager to schedule production orders for maximum machine utilization and in concert with sampling schedule. Monitors current part inventory, updates production board daily, insures that transportation time is considered in lead time for on-time delivery. Preventive maintenance. Using DTR track press hours and schedule preventive maintenance with Maintenance Manager. Adjust quantity in physical inventory menu to reflect physical quantity on production request vs. shift reported quantity. Coordinates tool retrievals and paperwork. Creates a daily duties list to review for the press floor for scheduling. Directly supervises employees in Production Control. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Implement performance appraisals yearly and enforce company policy. Plan, assign, and direct work appraising performance, and rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed. Practice continuous improvement and sets goals accordingly. Meet OSHA and DER compliance. Ensure safe working habits. Ensure all employees are wearing their safety equipment. Performs accident investigations. Implement corrective actions if an accident would occur.)Worked in a fast pace manufacturing enviromnent with knowledge of supply chain to manufactary relationship.
