Daily Duties at Sun Micro Systems:

Works closely with new and existing partners to establish relationships that drive new business, retain existing customers. Identify opportunities through research, collaboration, influence, relationship/account management with and through, distributors, resellers, partners, partner's lines of business and direct sales in assigned territory or region. Coordinate with internal subject matter experts (hardware and software), account sales managers, pricing, operations, and senior management to create new business opptys. Established, maintained, leveraged relationships throughout industries to ensure Sun MicroSystems the opportunity to be viewed as top of the line industry experts with the customer and integrators (new/existing)to achieve best value; lower costs; sustainability and scalability. Update customer records in CRM database; schedule events, call backs, meeting, senior management appointments, follow-ups and communications as required. Call on customers to establish long-term/strategic relationships and create new business opportunities. Grow existing customer base by offering value-add projects; retain knowledge of products and services to successfully present by working in a team environment, partnering and strategizing with existing Account Managers. Analyze clients needs and develop strategies tailored to each customer's requirements. Developed customer, competitor and market understanding for assigned market. Develop and implement Army Account Plan for implementation and executive; incorporating all of the field and sales reps, account managers, geographical locations, and opportunity assessment overview for management approval. Engage directly with customer's (senior officers, executives, program managers, etc.) to understand their business/mission. Work with contracting to ensure appropriate contract vehicles were in place for customers to buy from. Support key marketing activities necessary to support sales growth, (i.e., road shows; conferences, trade shows, internal and external sales webinars and training. Visit account(s) on a regular basis in order to maintain a strategic relationship status; identify necessary account changes and opportunities as quickly as possible. Obtain competitive information during daily contacts and as appropriate so as to develop sales strategies.
