Daily Duties at Burington Northern Railroad:

Directing and supervising Train and Engine Service Employees for general freight, as well inter-modal service employees for the terminal; also responsible for developing and implementing an aggressive safety action plan (after September 11, 2001); I was also instrumental in conducting annual rules and operating efficiency evaluations of train movements. As a trainmaster I worked closely with other Terminal and field management personnel, and closely with Division Personnel, Crew Management Center and the Operations Center, as I managed crew and operations to make tactical decisions with the goal of safety and service reliability.

What they like about Burington Northern Railroad:

You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
