Daily Duties at Peregrine Systems, Inc.:

I was responsible for all of the internal and external information coming out of the company. Most of my day-to-day activities focused on external communications creating such marketing materials as brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and product data sheets. I worked closely with a graphic designer and we created all of the materials in-house only using outside printing sources. I would meet with the company's CIO and talk about what products were under development. We would then work with the software designers, and the head of marketing to get all of the specifications, benefits, and applications on paper. I would create a draft of the text for each piece and review the material with the appropriate department head. I would take their comments and intergrate them into the second draft.... until the text was approved by all team members. I would work with the graphic designer to choose images and visuals for each piece. Ensures that all marketing materials undergo brand and trademark review and adhere to strict corporation guidelines. When the company released quarterly earnings, receive a significant order, or a follow-on order (any noteable shareholder activity) or host a users conference I would create a press release. I would meet with an appropriate manager, gather all relevant information and craft the first draft. I would review this draft with all appropriate managers unitl the release was approved by all parties. I would then release the information via the PR Newswire service and to members of the local news media. And, I would also handle any interaction with members of the media. I also handled all of the tradeshow activities for the company. We had more than 6 product lines, with locations in California, Illinois, Canada, and Alabama. I would manage the exhibit, graphics, literature, and products to be demonstrated and displayed at the show. I also handled all of the ad creation and placement for the company.
