Daily Duties at Mci/Verizon Business:

Track all service impacting outage to the FAA resulting from MCI and/or local exchange carriers (telephone companies) Trend service outages for dispatch times, escalations required, resolution time and action taken to resolve. Review service performance with FAA local and regional management. Notify FAA of any maintenance activities that could possibly impact communication services. Enforce policy of NO maintenance activity on the FAA LINCS network until after hours; normally 11pm local time. Attend all scheduled meetings and conference calls. Work with MCI techs and their management to ensure that preventive maintenance is performed monthly at all FAA sites. Work closely with MCI Network Management Center Managers to ensure that procedures are well defined and outlined for handling specific outage types reported. During my years on the FAA LINCS (Leased Interfacility National Airspace Communications System) account I was always responsive to the customers needs and requests. I was considered to be the "go to guy" by my peers when issues came up related to B+ site design, site electrical grounding (towers, buildings and inside equipment). I conducted site visits with the FAA Communications Manager, the local FAA techs and/or managers, as well as with MCI/Verizon techs and Telco techs. Performed daily outage trend analysis to determine partners and improvements in processes to reduce service impacting outages to the FAA.
