Daily Duties at The Ryland Group, Inc.:
Acquisitions Contractor – Scope of duties consist of building a wide-array of strategic relationships with developers, investors, and agents which proved instrumental in growing company production from less than 800 new home starts per year to more than 1,500 new home starts per year. Additionally, facilitated and managed leaseholds, established cost saving procedures used today by many. ➢ Selected by Division President to help create Ryland’s new “Land Department”. Charged with implementing feasibility/due diligence procedures and building on-going relationships within the real estate community, including prioritizing land and lot acquisitions, regional/local market analysis, project presentations, contract negotiations, re-zonings, and site development. ➢ Land Department directed all aspects in the research, due-diligence, acquisition, zoning and entitlement of over 18,000 single-family building lots, and 2,800+ acres of land and ancillary uses. ➢ Led expansion of community developments into new and successful outlying market areas never before attempted by company, increasing overall production and profit goals. ➢ Established cost saving procedures for all contractual offers. Identified successful and profitable uses for property owned thought of as useless and disregarded as such.
