Daily Duties at 4over Inc.:

Hired to manage a staff of ten accounting professionals, which consisted of accounts payable, receivable and billing. Responsible for month-end and year-end close. After a week of employment, realized the company had no policies or procedures in place and were not in compliance with GAAP. In addition, the company wanted to go Public, so I interveiwed CPA firms and opted to go with Ernst and Young. I also interviewed SOX consultants and partner with Frank Rimmerman to make the company Pre SOX compliant. Worked closely with the staff members to increase their knowledge and increase their skill set, since no accounting employee had prior accounting experience. The company had no cash management in place, so worked with Bank Of America, to set them up on account analysis and started implementing cash management. The company never performed a month-end close, so put procedures in place to comply with GAAP standards. The company was recognizing income in-correctly and worked with programmers to automate the process of billing. The company never performed any type of analysis, so cretaed templates to analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts. Performed all bank reconciliations and handled depreciation schedules. Ended up managing a staff of tweleve with an accounting manager and two staff accountants. Maintain bank and vendor relationships. Negotitate lease lines and rates. What they like about 4over Inc.:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
