Daily Duties at Chg Cornerstone Healthcare Group:
Director of Audit Hired as first Audit Director in organization. Spent the first 3 - 6 months on a daily basis performing the following; Meeting with management in Corp Office (Austin), as well as in 12 hospitals (5 states) introducing Internal Audit concepts and processes. Started immediately helping the CIO with a crucial legacy system implementation that was over budget in expenses and time.. worked closely with IT , traveled to hospitals in LA and TX helped Project Manage the implementation. Performed audit investigation into A/P issue wtih both hospitals in Houston, TX. CFO was not paying bills in order to show improved finacials for both facilities. Review resulted in CFO dismissal, worked with CEO's / Management of both hospitals to develop a new A/P Purchasing program for both hospitals to utilize together going forward. New program saved approximately 3% on hospital purchases going forward due to leverage of both entities purchasing together. Restructure of A/P in Houston saved company ~ $400k annually by laying off 1 of 2 CFO's and two A/P clerks.
