Daily Duties at Skilled Care Pharmacy:

Hired for 'as needed' work. Tried to learn as much as quickly as possible. Daily duties revolve around getting orders filled and preparred to truck out to various clients at the end of the day. I have had to learn two new computer system quickly; I would not be much help without that skill. There are two distinct areas of this Pharmacy. I work either on a given day. Up front, orders are recieved and then entered into patient profiles to generate labels for order filling. Here orders that have problems are handled, phone calls made to clarify problems, calls with questions come here also. In the back, the orders that technicians have filled are verified by a Pharmacist and prepared to be shipped out. This job entails guiding the staff to focus on the upcomming deadlines. Between 12:30 and 2pm there are some homes that get deliveries. It's my job to ensure that all the orders for a given nursing home are accounted for and prepared to ship. On occation, an order is delayed. If that happens, the deadlines for the deliveries behind it are then delayed. Having experience in a hospital, I can handle the occational IV order. I can make dosing suggestions, prepare product, whatever is needed.
