Daily Duties at Duquesne University Small Business Development Center:

I was responsible for the planning, organizing and implementing of the SBDC training programs. Duties included: planning of the schedules, selection of topics, speakers, and co-sponsors; coordination of program logistics; planning and implementing marketing, promotional and public relations activities. I planned the outlined market strategies, program content, attendee hour projections, and budget projections. I provided bi-weekly status reports to the Director pertaining to ongoing training programs including information on deliverable hours planned and completed, expenses, current finance and budget status, and direct marketing dates. I maintained training program files that included funding source deliverable reports, registration and attendee information, handout materials and budgets. I interacted with the Budget Administrator to plan budgets, deposit registration fees, and maintain income statements. I scheduled and oversaw the activities of seminar assistants and instructed teoephone receptions in registration procedures. I obtained ideas and feedback from staff regarding training program topics, involvement of consultants in programs, and marketing programs to clients. I assumed special projects and represented the SBDC at functions for other administrative and public relation duties, including updating the federal and/or state legislators on SBDC operations.
