Daily Duties at Union Bank:
Managed a staff of 10 employees with deposit totals of $ 19,000,000 and outstanding loan totals of $ 6,000,000. These totals do not include any home mortages or business loans consisting of Commercial Real Estate as they were booked at other units. The majority of my day was spent interacting with the employees and clients and doing whatever was necessary to get the job done. At least 4 hours a day were focused on coaching and development of the staff including one on one sessions with each employee and observations of their interactions with the clients. Feedback was provided whether it was in a positive or corrective means but always in a manner meant to make the client experience a positive one for them and the bank. At least 2 hours a day were set aside for business development which consisted of warm calling or cold calling along with prospecting or community activities including such items as Rotary, Lions Club and the merchants association of our shopping center. At least 2 hours a day were providing customer service whether that be helping a client to resolve a problem, open a new account, sign loan documents, take a loan application or expand their relationship with the bank.
What they like about Union Bank:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
