Daily Duties at Rushford Center :

Oversaw delivery of treatment for a diverse group of over 1500 clients enrolled in Extended Day Treatment (EDT); Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Programs; Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (IMPACT); Alternative Middle and High School for emotionally disturbed and conduct disordered students; and Out Patient Clinic (ECC) for children, youth, and families. Conducted periodic reviews of clinical treatment with interdisciplinary team including staff and consulting psychiatrists. Hired, supervised, evaluated, trained, and disciplined permanent staff, temporary staff, support staff and interns. Despite staff turnover that exceeded 50%, all clinical interventions were conducted as scheduled. Oversaw implementation of evidenced based practices such as Risking Connections, Project Joy, Aggression Replacement Training, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Represented Rushford to collateral agencies such as DCF, Probation, Parole, Juvenile Justice, public school districts, hospitals, and other Local Mental Health Authorities. Monitored and assisted in the development of budgets, grants, and contracts. Despite budgetary constraints increased enrollment in EDT and ECC. Provided day-to-day supervision of the EDT and IMPACT programs. Analyzed Program needs and developed objectives for the department’s strategic goals. Revised clinical curriculum for the population served in order to comply with evidenced based practices. Developed group manual for clinical and social skills groups. Maintained schedule of intakes, placement, admission, and discharge functions of the programs. Participated with treatment planning, collaborated with the team to formulate treatment plans, crisis plans and maintenance of charts of all clients. Assisted in crisis resolution/problem-solving with clients. Coordinated referrals with DCF gatekeeper. Supervised clinical staff and mental health counselors. Assisted Clinical Manager with performance appraisals, hiring and disciplinary actions. Provided opportunities for ongoing staff development. Collaborated with supervisor to identify self-learning needs and sought out resources or instruction opportunities. Prepared medical and policy documentation to meet regulatory requirements of licensing and third party agencies. Reported contractual data to DCF.
