Daily Duties at Univeristy Of Wisconsin Stevens Point:

• Planned, directed and administered the financial, operational and personnel functions of Facilities Services providing the plant engineering and maintenance support for geographically dispersed buildings (approximately 3 million gross square feet), 400 acres of grounds and utilities on the main campus and support for associated field stations. • Directed and lead a department of 106 career professional, technical, clerical, craft and maintenance employees and another 45 limited term and student employees. Ensured compliance with all applicable safety and labor laws, regulations, and requirements for all Facility Services personnel. • Planned and managed an annual operating budget of $3.4 million. • Managed Capital, Division of State Facilities delegated and small projects, campus requested projects funded by the Division of State Facilities from project conception, estimation, justification and execution to final close out. Responsible for biennial updates of the Campus Maintenance Plan required for justifying and receiving all-agency repair and replacement projects. • Participated in the planning and design of major construction and remodeling projects. Reviewed architect and engineer's design documents and made recommendations that best meet the needs of the campus and minimized future maintenance and operating expenses. Assisted in the inspection, safety, closeout, and warranty compliance of contractor work. • Functional areas of responsibility included all areas of facilities maintenance and construction; physical plant purchasing; participation in facilities design and engineering; automotive maintenance; grounds and custodial maintenance, utilities, transportation, central stores and receiving, mail services, recycling, and surplus sales. • Provide energy audit expertise to campus clients and focus on the identification and implementation of cost effective methods for reducing energy costs and consumption through technology improvements to existing building systems and processes. • Coordinate/Lead audit activities, including identifying current energy consumption levels and profiles for campus buildings and systems and identifying cost-effective modifications, adjustments, alterations, additions, and retrofits. • Develop audit reviews and energy proposals, including efficiency and onsite generation opportunities from financial analysis, design review, project management, and strategic planning perspectives.
