Daily Duties at Sci:

I processed all customer orders and validated pricing and delivery date request. My programs included Echostar, which involved building the receivers for the company. This was a high volume very fast paced environment. We had a 24/7 manufacturing plant. I had to make sure the supply chain were buying the correct parts and were being delviered on time as we ran a JIT production line. After about 1 year, we knew our plant could not keep up with the demand. So we set out to find other off-shore facilities that could help increase production output. We agreed on Mexico and Singapore. I would receive all engineering change orders and new design and new software of which I had to implement across multiple plants which had to be coordinated very effectively. I held conference calls with Mexico and Singopore along with visiting multiple suppliers to ensure they understand the importance of the customers demands. I implemented forecasting tools with Echostar to become better equipped to manage their changing demands. This was the biggest revenue generator for the plant so all eyes were on me and my team to keep the customer happy. Again, I implemented forecast tools and became part of Echostars team would would review their forecast. This lead to reduced lead times which allowed them to change demands on us very quickly to respond to market demands.
