Daily Duties at Get A Grip:

I started by working and learning several film crew positions and eventually grew to hiring and supervising a team of producers and editors who managed several projects at a time. I was responsible for overall budgeting, quality control, client relations and communication strategy. I am responsible for script analysis; visualization and sequencing; breaking down the script; creating and managing the project budget; developing story boards; writing production and shoot schedules; hiring crew; casting, rehearsing and directing talent; providing wardrobe, props & makeup; determining set design; scouting locations; developing graphics; supervising post-production; music and sweetening. I have also trained and educated clientele on all aspects of video production, including visual development, project management and the implementation of traditional as well as creative production techniques.

What they like about Get A Grip:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
