Daily Duties at Ivy Tech Community College:

Creating Fine Art Program (infrastructure, equipment, curriculum etc.) • Fashioned the first online Visual Communications and Fine Art courses) • Integrated and advised a campus Fine Arts Student Organization • nstituted a Library Partnership with the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) • Designed interactive Art History components with Curators from the IMA • Originated five new degree option/articulations with Herron School of Art, and New Media at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and Indiana State University with others pending from Marian and the University of Indianapolis • Outlined and structured a plan for the National Accreditation for Schools of Art and Design accreditation for the Fine Art and Visual Communications programs • Responsibilities of my position include writing all aspects of curriculum, student advising, regular class instruction and development. This state-funded two-year college utilized my skills and experience to create a new program, Visual Communications. Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
