I created reporting templates for income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows. SBT had been configured into three sets of five numbers (00000-00000-00000)to provide data by accounting code,cost center and funding source. By creating my own templates I could crwate financial reports on any cost center or funding course I chose. Using the control panel proivded spaces I entered the required information: company, cost centers, fund groups, reporting periods and report type (actual or budget). Once I keyed information into the control panel for the report I wanted I would hit 'F9' and the report was generated. Having generated the reports I would send them to the CFO, accounting manager and grant manager for review and analysis, as well as providing my own analysis. I created SBT accounting software budgets in F9 using the budget write-back system. SBT budget accounts were copied into Excel using F9. Budget balances were entered on the Excel budget template. I copied the budgets back into the clipboard and F9 copied the clipboard budget back into the SBT software. To summarize this process: I copied SBT budget accounts into Excel, entered the budget figures and then wrote the budgets back into SBT via F9. Using recruiters I interviewed a good candidate for the fiannce manager's job. She had the accounting and finance skills and was enrolled in a Federally recognized tribe. She was trained in reporting system and took over after a month. Create a financial management office, create reports linked to SBT software, find and train native american replacement.
