Daily Duties at Extended Education & Outreach University Of Nebraska:

1) Supervise information technology staff: recruit and hire staff, review achievements, set specific goals, measure performance and, if necessary, remove staff; 2) Strategic planning: assess business needs, create and implement strategic plans as part of the administrative team; 3) Manage helpdesk support for all standardized hardware and software, networking, and business applications; 4) Project Management: define project scope, deliverables, tasks, and schedules; estimate duration and needed resources; manage and monitor project performance; arbitrate a resolution to obstacles impacting success, and keep stakeholders informed of project status; 5) Budget Processes: recommend and manage the IT operations and personnel budgets; 6) Software Development Life Cycle: Oversee all stages of software development life cycle; 7) Business Process Management: meet with the other business units within the division to help determine and document business processes; 8) Change Management: leverage technology to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize investment; 9) Formal communications: prepare and present financial reviews and other information to senior managers, customers, and project team personnel; 10) Collaborate with the UNL CIO and other University professionals to enhance technology support for the University of Nebraska.
