Daily Duties at Vt Miltope:

Reviewed customer orders and loaded into ERP system. I checked the orders for pricing accuracy, delivery date availability and contract details. If there were issues with any portion of the order I communicated the issue with the customer and negotiated the resolution. I checked the open order backlog to ensure everything was loaded properly. I met with the IPT (integrated production team) on a daily basis to capture any known issues with design, manufacturing and materials. Any issues that would impact customer requirements I would contact either the business development office to strategize possible solutions then presented the information to the customer having a solution in hand. I published revenue projections to upper management and worked with the finance department to review targeted potential misses and worked again with the IPT to mitigate any revenue impacts. I presented weekly Program Management reviews (in PowerPoint) to executive staff members to keep them abreast of program progression. I help weekly conference calls to all of my customers to keep them informed of their orders and discussed possible new business and new design implementations. My programs included all wireless devices for commercial aviation customers. These customers included: Airbus, Thales, Boeing, Panasonic, Rockwell Collins, Emirates Air, LiveTV. My product lines were access points that were installed on commercial airplances. Miltope had our design engineers located in Boulder CO. I had to constantly be in communcation with them via phone, web conferences and sometimes had to fly to Boulder to engage in strategic planning on new products that we were designing. The point here is that it was sometimes challenging having design engineers not located in your facility but I overcame these challenges and made the remote working relation ship a success. I published action items that the IPT team used daily so we could track all activities to completion and also used these with the customer to show how the programs were tracking to their requirements. I would constantly follow up with targeted departments and IPT members to ensure they were going to meet the deadline we published on the action item list. I also published KBI reports (Key Business Indicators). These reports were kept internal and they indentified: inventory turns, 13 week rolling revenue projections vs target, labor used monthly vs targeted labor required and AR timelines. I was involved many times with our AR department to resolve any accounting descrapancies and or late payments from the customer and resolved all items that were identified. Most of these resolution came from tracking shipment dates, tracking numbers to prove items were delivered.

What they like about Vt Miltope:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
