Daily Duties at Usag Fort Mc Coy/88th Regional Support Command:
Served as Command Judge Advocate (General Counsel) for Fort McCoy and the 88th Regional Support Command. Supervise day-to-day activities of staff attorneys (4+), paralegals (2+), and claims examiner. Oversee the evaluation and professional development of assigned personnel this include professional responsibility training to meet continuing legal educational requirements. Provide training to all organizational personnel on legal and ethical issues. Establish and maintain the office calendar to ensure that the organization meets its legal obligation through appropriate personnel staffing. Provided and coordinated in-persons briefings to soldiers and civilian employees on subjects such as retiree issues, ethics, contracting and procurement, Military Law, and employment and labor law issues. Promulgate and oversee compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Ensure the office meets its ethical and legal obligation. Monitor office performance (written customer comments and client interviews) to ensure client satisfaction. Report to executive leaders any legal compliance issues. Monitor office infrastructure and request additional or improved equipment or facilities when necessary. Coordinate the office’s efforts with different executive directorates and outside intergovernmental organizations. Continually use organizational acumen to ensure timely analysis of organizational problems. Create management protocol for addressing and tracking office tasks. Coordinate and assist Department of Justice and other Army organizations efforts to prosecute criminal cases. Draft and review legal reviews, opinions, and memorandums as requested by organizational directorates to ensure legal compliance with Army regulation, policy and Federal statute. Represent the Army at EEO and MSPB administrative hearings and investigations. Provide executive leaders with legal reviews and advice all formal disciplinary actions within the US Army Reserve. Provide contract and fiscal legal review and advice for USAR contracts.
