Charge Respiratory Therapist • Precepts new employee, Communicates problems encountered during working hours to the department director such as work schedule and treatment load problems, equipment and supply shortage/malfunction, patient cooperation, and medical or other personnel problems. Provides patient and family instruction in Respiratory therapy self administration and proper use of equipment and supplies. • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Operation, maintenance and management of mechanical ventilation. Blood gas drawing, analysis and interpretation. • Artificial airway management, tracheotomy care including downsizing and decannulation. • CPAP/BIPAP/AUTOPAP .Aerosolized drug administration. • Works as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage patient care. • Very involved in decisions making with the Doctors and pulmonologists
