Daily Duties at Usaf Institute For Operational Health:
Environmental Physicist tasked with managing 11 senior technical specialist who provide comprehensive health physics expertise, guidance, and assistance to US Air Force and Department of Defense assets to assess, communicate and mitigate risks to personnel resulting from exposure to various sources of radiation. Personnel measure occupational and environmental levels of radiation, evaluate personal doses and associated health risks. Maintain and execute the sole AF comprehensive radioanalytical laboratory, dosimetry program, and the management/disposition of all radioactive and mixed waste. Provide expertise and worldwide response capability to any incident or accident involving radioactive materials or nuclear devices.
