Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch:
As a Financial Advisor Trainee my primary job function was to study and pass Series 7 and Series 66 licensing requirements.5 hours per day were dedicated to studying on line to pass each individual test. 2 hours per day were dedicated to spending time with my mentor advisor to learn how to effectivly develop and manage a portfolio for the clients. 1 hour per day was dedicated to making nyself familiar with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch products , including the managed portfolio products, Loan Management accounts, and the Mutual Funds families that were offered by Merrill Lynch.Additionl time was spend as most lunch hours we were entertained by mutual fund wholesalers who would talk to us about their products and explain the benefits of each of their mutual fund products and allow us to ask questions about the products.
What they like about Merrill Lynch:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
