Daily Duties at Aig Annuity Qc Analyst:

I was recruited for this position because of my attention to details and my ability to streamline a process. I handled every single report request that came through our department. This included any requests for data that came through our Compliance Department for external audits done by Sarbanes-Oxley, NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and the DOI (Department of Insurance). These audit requests varied by state. Additionally, we received internal report request. I reviewed every request for completeness and clarity and then submitted it to the data warehouse team for creation. If the requests weren’t complete or clear, I would contact the requestor to get the additional information needed. If our data warehouse team was overloaded with work, I would create the report myself using Business Objects. I used Business Objects on a daily basis for verifying the accuracy and completeness of the reports provided to me by the data warehouse team. I wrote many SQL statements everyday using TOAD to verify the accuracy of the reports. Audit season was generally the first 5 months of every year. This was the only time I ever delegated work to other team members. The data requested from the various entities that audited our business often had to be in a specific format. We often used Microsoft Access to format the data, adding leading zeros or spaces, positive or negative signs, removing decimal points, etc. It was very important that the data be in the correct format or the final file created could not be processed by the system in use by the entities requesting the data. I used Microsoft Excel daily, including VLOOKUP, to compare the results I pulled with my own SQL Queries or with Business Objects to the report data received from the data warehouse team.
