Daily Duties at Gladstone Institutes:
• Analyzed protein misfolding and aggregation in cell and animal models of Huntington`s diseases • Designed and generated many essential plasmids in various expression systems through mutagenesis and characterized protein interaction and misfolding of mutant huntingtin protein. • Handled transgenic mice (>10 mutant lines): standard husbandry, genotyping, i.p. injection, oral gavage, perfusion, blood and sample collection as well as behavioral testing. • Composed, modified and responded to animal protocol related affairs as required by The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee • Screened and characterized mutant founders and the double/triple progeny with other genes of interest via metabolic, behavioral, biochemical and immunohistochemical analysis • Designed, constructed and purified core constructs for creating transgenic animals by microinjection. Screened founders. • Designed and executed the experimental scheme for compound treatment on disease model mice, deliberately documented observation, and vigorously collected crucial samples in a timely fashion, along with coordinating sample analysis among collaborating laboratories.
