Daily Duties at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation:

I assessed and prioritized patient calls for seven attending internal medicine physicians and sixteen residents according to acuity level, directing patient care to either the emergency room, urgent appointment or home treatment. Performed comprehensive assessments of the chief complaint and patient's needs utilizing the nursing process. Consistently able to interpret lab/test results to the patient following triage protocols while also notifying the physician of abnormal or urgent results. Based on these findings, sought solutions and offered opinions to physicians and other health care providers. Documented all nursing assessments in the patient's medical record. Ensured that all documentation was clear, complete and legible. Maintained patient confidentiality at all times. Communicated with other foundation and hospital clinical and administrative departments to coordinate appropriate patient care. Routinely called outside agencies, physicians, pharmacies, home health agencies to relay or obtain patient information and to coordinate care. Proficiency gained with Epic health care charting software. Proficiency gained with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
