Oversaw all tax department operations for a $4.4 billion transportation and logistics company, including the negotiation & resolution of tax cases, abatement & waiver of penalties, preparation and review of corporate tax filings and management of personal, real property and occupational taxes. Prepared IRS Form 5471 “Foreign Corporations Affiliated with US Corporations”, Form 5472 “Foreign Corporation with ownership 25% or greater and Form 90.22.1 FBAR “Foreign Bank Account Report” on an annual basis. Filed IFTA (international fuel tax agreement) returns in various states. Prepared Form 2290 (Heavy Highway Use Tax Returns) for all vehicles in operation. Collaborated with outside accounting firm to complete tax returns by providing revenue, expense, and asset information and coordinating completion of returns. Acted as Bank Administrator, overseeing Banking Security Setup, updating banking contracts and signature cards, amending Banking Corporate Resolutions to reflect changes in corporate structure and opening & closing bank accounts as prescribed by the Chief Financial Officer. * Led the Form 1099 Compliance Project with Vendor Administration. • Gathered information for the FIN 48 Project to determine NYK’s Uncertain Tax Positions. • Prepared and filed Use Tax Returns for over 30 states, Personal Property Tax returns & Business License applications for 56 locations and Real Property Tax returns for company-owned locations in three states. • Prepared and Filed Canadian Harmonized and Gross Sales Taxes.
