Daily Duties at Rock Tenn Corporation:
Managed accts receivable, accts. payable, including invoicing and collections utilizing accounting software program. Processed and verified purchase orders with receiving tickets to fulfill payables duties. Implemented all cost control measures, as well as payroll responsibilites on the IBM 36 and ADP then switching to the A/S 400. Processed payroll for 730 employees, which included wage garnishments, tax deductions, insurance changes, on a weekly basis. Reported any finished goods inventory over 6 months to salesmen in order to sell or bale. Set up spreadsheets to track credit for all customers to eliminate company's exposure to bad debt as well as maintained costs on a PC for all sample jobs for future business. Assisted accounting managers and controller with month-end closings to determine the company's profit/loss for the month. Responsible for petty cash drawer that maintained approximately $2,200.00 on a weekly basis.
