Patient advocate. Provided direct patient care to variety of patients including: cardiac, respiratory, medical, and surgical clients. Carefully assessed, monitored, and promptly treated individual conditions and needs. Accurately dispensed medications, correctly administered IV fluids, and effectively interpreted patient data. Collaborated with members of the interdisciplinary team. Provided patients and families with emotional support and instructions in areas such as self-care, independent living and adaption to disability or illness. Performed nursing interventions such as tracheostomy care, wound care, breathing treatments, central line care in accordance to policy and procedures. Worked consistently as a team player and developed professional relationship with unit staff. Trained newly hired RN's effectively. Demonstrated safe practices and increased professional accountability. Refined communication skills.
