Daily Duties at Walgreens:
· Practices pharmacy in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as Walgreens’ pharmacy. · Follows physicians' orders, dispenses & compounds medications for patients. · Consults with physicians and patients regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints as well as determines and consults on possible drug interactions. · Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnel in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing and reconciling inventory of drugs and controlled drugs and the maintenance of required record · Participates in Drug Utilization Review. Also assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals. · Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. · Ensures customer satisfaction, maintains working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals · Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. · Oversees the ordering and quality of inventory to meet customer demand and maximize gross profit · Orients and mentors new staff members.
