Daily Duties at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center:
• Manages and facilitates program administration, research and the concise monitoring of Navy, Marine and Reserve limited duty cases. • Leads strategic workforce planning, providing guidance and conflict resolution for 10 Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers, including guidance on federal laws, Navy and Marine Corps regulations, policies, and procedures. • Researches and analyzes complex, controversial, and sensitive problems, identifies and develop recommendations that resolve issues. • Focusing on results and measuring attainment of outcomes, plans work, sets and adjusts departmental priorities, and prepares schedules for work to be accomplished by staff. • Establishes departmental policies, documents, regulations, procedures, and standard operating instructions that focus on correcting issues and strengthening business practices. • Align dates, times, places to report, and other details to appropriate Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs hospitals or clinics. • Counsels military personnel, retirees, and the families of those being processed through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System Program or Limited Duty on their rights, benefits, privileges, or obligations. • Maintains and safeguards both hard copy and electronic medical information strictly enforcing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Achievements • Introduced program analysis techniques and procedures, streamlined administrative processes, management theories, and standardized computer systems to achieve greater efficiency resulting in a 35% reduction in processing times and a 55% increase in office productivity. • Successfully bridged the gap between Head Quarters Navy and Marine Corps, Medical Treatment Facility Physicians and Active Duty Personnel in the Limited Duty Program lowered the number of expired case from 75 to 17 in 6 months a reduction of 58 frustrated cases.
