Daily Duties at Aig Annuity Qed:

I was a charter member of this team. My job was to go from team to team, learn their processes, and then find ways of streamlining their processes. I looked for anything and everything that would make things easier to do and more efficient. This could be as simple as recreating all their forms in a format easier to fill out. On one team, they were manually typing dozens of letters to clients. I designed form letters that only required the user to fill out a few details in a spreadsheet, and then they used the Microsoft Word form letter I created to automatically create and print all the letters required. There were several times that what they needed was more complex than a single Excel spreadsheet. This required the creation of a Microsoft Access Database that allowed for multiple functions. Occasionally, the Microsoft Access Database would require security because the information it contained was more sensitive than other types of data. When this was the case, I setup security for the Access Database that required the user to enter a password. Certain groups could see certain windows and functions, while other groups could see different windows and functions. Utilizing the built in Basic programming language, created over 100 timesaving Attachmate EXTRA! Macros for automating note entry into the system. It would prompt the user for specific information, then automatically enter the note. Management decided that this was so efficient they had a programmer recreate an entire application based on my automated macros for note entry. This was named NoteSource, and I was put in charge of testing and creating the initial set of note macros. This application would allow for the customization of any kind of note that needed to be entered on a regular basis.
