Daily Duties at Walgreen's:

I was hired out of Pharmacy school as a floater pharmacist at Walgreens. I would go to appointed stores to relieve the normal staff pharmacist that was on vacation. In 2004 I was placed in a staff pharmacist position in an undesrable store in down town louisville. I worked at that store for 2 years and wanted to be closer to home. The Daily working of the pharmacy included Taking in new prescription by scanning the images in to database, entering all information on prescription, ensure proper patient address and personal information is correct with updated insurance prior to them leaving the drop off window. Pull and count the correct medication from the shelf. Do a final verification for the prescription for accuracy prior to sale to the patient. At pick up window I verify all patient information prior to sale to ensure correct patient. Then I proceed to counsel on all new prescriptions and offer to counsel on refills. During this process I worked with 2-3 technicians to assist in many tasks. This increases productivity and speed of filling prescriptions I get new prescriptions from doctors that call in or transfer prescriptions from a competitor. I handle customer complaints as required.
