Daily Duties at Meijer:

Daily running of the pharmacy. Take in new prescription by scanning the images in to the EPS database, entering all information on prescription, ensure proper patient address and personal information is correct with updated insurance prior to them leaving the process window. Pull and count the correct medication from the shelf. Do a final verification for the prescription for accuracy prior to sale to the patient. At pick up window I verify all patient information prior to sale to ensure correct patient. Then I proceed to counsel on all new prescriptions and offer to counsel on refills. During this process I manage up to 4 technicians to assist in many tasks. This increases productivity and speed of filling prescriptions. A final step in the process includes a "triple check" this is completed by either by myself or technician to ensure the accuracy of any prescription. During this I discipline and praise the team or team member based on their job performance as needed. I enter scheduling based on a corporate predetermined hour budget typically 103-112 hours per week for technicians and 80 pharmacist hours. Manage inventory by ordering and directing staff to do" random counts " in addition to the biannual inventory. I get new prescriptions from doctors that call in or transfer prescriptions from a competitor. I managed customer complaints or praise for admirable customer service.
