Daily Duties at Lutheran Social Services Of The Virgin Islands:

As the largest non-profit organization in the U.S Virgin Islands, I was solely responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources functions for over 200 employees. This included creating and maintaining personnel files daily, scheduling evaluations for employees to be completed and reviewed before issuance, working with program directors or supervisors in creatively recruiting and marketing positions through inter office memo, local newspaper, and on internet services such as CareerVI. Took part in all the interviewing, and disciplinary hearings on both islands. All termination had to be reviewed and approved by both myself and the CEO. Provided, conducted and/or researched training in social service related matters for staff to be able to enhance the quality of care provided to each resident. Guided the agency in its overall personnel policies and group insurance policies through individual/group meetings or workshops in a fun yet comprehensive manner. Coordinated company parties to recognized employees who served for 5 years, 10, 20, and 30 plus years. Organized ageny tours which allowed staff members from one program area to visit another program area and allowed members to get to know and interact with one another. Update agency directory which kept directors and supervisors aware of staff phone numbers and change of address in case of emergency such as a hurricane.
