Daily Duties at Government Employees Retirement System Of The Virgin Islands:

-Covered for Assistant Administrator during her absence by ensuring the daily office operations of loan acceptance, member services are handled, front desk personnel is available for attending to the telephone and directing members of the System to the appropriate employee, running water and electricity is available without any interruption to avoid Union issues, custodian office cleaning are performed daily (morning and afternoon), adequate coverage are available for the loan and benefits division, if not adjustments are made to the number of members received at the front desk to delay long waiting periods. -Pulled payroll time reports from computer software every other Monday for staff of 12 employees. Reviewed and compute each employee attendance from report and prepare appropriate spreadsheet for Assistant Administrator's approval. -Prepare all memorundums, financial reports, fiscal budget, letters, monthly reports, for Assistant Administrator -review all monthly bills received for office operations (electrical, water, alarm system, water supply, postage usage) to ensure accuracies of charges timely before due dates -Review monthly petty cash accounts ($2,000) and usage for office usage or emergency pertaining to office operations and review of all receipts prior to request for replenshment of account Weekly managed and maintained freight account for sending office packages inter-island for appropriate personnel at head quarter office in St. Thomas. Ensuring account is funded without any overdraughts or penalty fees. - reviewed, approved and certified processed personal and retiree loan applications daily for the peak period of processing loans September (1000 est. loans processed..accepted application varied monthly during peak season) thru February annually
