Daily Duties at Defence Science And Technology Organisation, Australia:

This was a summer internship. Studies resulted in authoring paper: Correction of Atmospheric Effects and Extraction of Reflectance Spectra using the ATREM Computer Code. I would learn the ATREM code and work to integrate it through programming and testing into the ENVI program. I was responsible for working with a contractor for programming the interface code to work with ENVI. I learned how the ATREM code worked so that future sensor data that was used could be encoded into the system to remove the atmospheric effects based specifically on that sensor - since ATREM used only AVIRIS data, i had to understand that data and how the atmosphere was removed from that data and use that information to adapt future sensors to use the software.
