Daily Duties at Ball Aerospace And Technology Organization:

Assigned Tasks/Titles: Deep Impact Project: Ground Systems Engineer, Mission Support Area Developer Kepler Project: Database Manager and Ground Systems Engineer Daily Responsibilities while at Ball: I was hired into the OASIS Group, the ground system group. I was responsible for learning 2 new ground systems - OASIS (a ground system developed my CU and LASP [Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics lasp.colorado.edu]) and AMMOS (Advanced Multi-Missions Operaions Systems developed at JPL ammos.jpl.nasa.gov/) I was responsible for on-site support of ground system operations on the Deep Impact mission. i would install updates for AMMOS, I would support test and development where the engineers would use either AMMOS or OASIS for testing and development purposes. I was responsible for moving the AMMOS/OASIS work stations when necessary, setting up and working with facilities to ensure all the communcations and other items necessary were available for the tests, provided updates to the telemetry and command databases from flight software updates and errors encountered in tests - both for AMMOS and OASIS. For Deep Impact, I worked on the OASIS group to develop the ground system telemetry and command tables to work with flight software and the test benches being developed by the GSE (Government serviced equipment) Group at Ball. I also worked with QA to ensure that we met the quality assurance requirements set out by Ball.
