Daily Duties at The Rochester Group:

Data Analyst/Modeler, The Rochester Group 1994-2012 • Create and implement the working print shop prototype for Xerox Corporation with multiple machines, jobs, and employees. The simulator recommends the proper machine and resource from the available pool by calculating all job costs and time of execution. The model is the engine of the ValueLogix software suite. • Prototype and implement the order entry system for Xerox Corporation. Designed, implemented, wrote technical specification and tested the finance and re-finance modules. Programmed the base math libraries and the coin-sorter logic. This prototype is the finance engine for Xerox’s order entry system. • Verizon Wireless Business to Business o Design and develop propensity to buy wireless products by leveraging primary sources to establish a use pattern by region and business profile and infer the profile to secondary sources (Dun and Bradstreet). Establish, specify and test the model re-calculation process (data refresh). o Project the line count yield by assignment given the time standard for each step in the sales process, the history of success by region business type (vertical). o Generate marketing lists to ensure proper yield for promotions and campaigns. This is accomplished by using SQL to parse data according customer request. o Design and present reports to illustrate assignment effectiveness. A typical question would be, what if we implemented a vertical sales force, what would the yield be, short term, long term which markets (MSA) and which verticals. o Create a dash board for every market to establish proper performance and set appropriate quota o Customer support for Sales Force Configuration tool. • Verizon Wireless Retail Work o Design and implement the profile the work flow of a retail store, by analyzing foot traffic reports and sales performance. Determine the right size of staffing for each location by separating the roles of each position and projected traffic volume. o Design and implement the radius of influence and customer draw for every US retail location by store type (stores, kiosks and agents). This is established by the current market growth as determined by US census data, current market share and churn for Verizon and its competitors determined by Telephia data and retail sales. o Leverage the retail model to calculate the underserved populations and recommend new store locations. This was established by creating the appropriate data base structures and forecasting methods then overlaying existing store influence. Establish 2 year forecast for all locations, existing and recommended. o Leverage the retail model to recommend store closures and analyzing the impact on the market. • Telecom Industry (Telus, Frontier and Verizon Business) o Design and develop a propensity model for the wire line communication industry. The model is the aggregate need by product class (Long Distance, VOIP, Frame Relay, Teleconfrencing, T1-T3, Fiber) by account. Accounts are defined by location count leveraging the Dun and Bradstreet hierarchy. This was accomplished by inferring accounts through reverse engineering billing records and calculating cost versus revenue for each account. • Medical Device Industry (Gaymar industries, Riechert and Curbell eletronics) o Establish the size of sales force to cover the market o Establish the impact of adding a product line to the current product mix o Prioritize customer/prospect engagement points by establishing the probability of success and yield. This was accomplished by using HIN database and customer records then applying multi-variant linear regression to establish the product need for each location. • Team member for the high level design of the Sales Territory Configuration software suite • Programmed base geo-spatial libraries to calculate great circle of the earth relationships (in C++) • Customer point of contact on all projects • Gather customer requirements then write the business and software requirement to reflect problem understanding • Design and rapid prototype problem solutions. This is done mostly in Excel with a UNIX database back front-end. • Design, build and load data sets to solve the problem as well as defining the database mapping to connect customer data to the software solution. • Write the functional specification for the software package and data refresh processes • Query data using SQL to data mine large data sets to drive out business intelligence. • Write SQL scripts to define the process for data extraction and loading. This is accomplished using UNIX scripts, AWK, SQL, PERL, Excel. • Explain modeling techniques to test, development, management and customer and act as a liaison between the technical and business teams. • Present solutions and prototype to upper management and the client for approval, alteration and sign off • Present the Sales Territory Configuration software suite on sales calls to potential clients
