Starting after school as a "stock girl" learned the business from the ground up. Developed strong work ethic,learned about products, interacting with customers and staff, importance of confidentiality. Learned to ask questions and absorb information, becoming increasingly interested in pharmacy. Worked my way up to clerk then pharmacy technician. As Staff Pharmacist performing all pharmacist responsibilities including reviewing and accurately interpreting physician orders, counseling customers, developed excellent communication and interpersonal skills,contacted health care providers when necessary, resolved third party issues,checked the work of technicians. Increasingly took over more responsibility including developing schedules, delegating assignments, converted manual pharmacy system to computerized system becoming IT director. As owner and manager continued these responsibilities as well as negotiating with wholesalers, regulating inventory,wrote performance reviews, thoroughly upheld pharmacy laws, regulations and professional standars.Maintained inventory and records of use for controlled substances generating successful business plans,planned and implemented Long Term Care Division of pharmacy, acted as a role model and mentor for pharmacy interns,continued to develop strong ties to the community.
