Daily Duties at Compassionate Care Hospice:

• Inputs diverse data, such as demographic characteristics, medications, clinical history, plan of treatment, and input ICD-9 codes for diagnosis into MISYS database. • Processes patient admissions and discharge documents. • Obtains all pertinent information for all deaths, discharges and/or revocations. • Responds to requests for medical records; process letters and reports; answers and directs telephone calls. • Protects the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained. • Thoroughly review records on a weekly basis for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations. • Releases information to persons and agencies according to regulations. • Maintains various patient files and retrieves files for scheduled appointments; files all patient data upon receipt of information; initiates records for new patients and creates computer index; prepares file labels; maintains filing statistics; audits filing sequence.
