Daily Duties at United States Marine Corps Reserve:
Performed as first-level supervisor, providing technical supervision for approximately 7-8 lower-ranking Marines in a communications shop. Train, motivate and maintained discipline for subordinate marines within a structured environment. Provide guidance, resources, assistance and supervision necessary for soldiers to perform their duties. Organize, direct, delegate and control assigned marines so that they could accomplish assigned missions. Directed the installation of wire system, Assigned personnel, tasks, instructions, and inspected progress periodically to insure compliance with instructions. Constructed distribution frames using terminal boxes. Constructed a distribution frame so that all wires are connected and operational. Identified types of terminal boxes needed, installed terminal boxes on distribution frame, ground terminal boxes, connected wire lines to distribution frame and tagged all wires/cable. Directed operation of wire system, assessed wire/cable operational requirements, assigned wire personnel, inspected wire/cable system for deterioration, identified problems, directed corrective actions, inspected results and ensured personnel comply with correct operating procedures. Directed operation of digital backbone network, analyzed user requirements as dictated by the tempo of operations, ensured periodic revalidation of types and quantities of terminal equipment and any special configuration requirements for each, reconfirmed numbers, distances, and locations of nodes in the network, reconfigured as required, external network interfaces and network COMSEC functions as required. Executed reconfiguration plan based on equipment outages. Directed corrective action to maintain cable routes for external network requirements. Directed wire preventive maintenance, determined capabilities, evaluated available personnel and available equipment. Analyzed workload and priorities. Assigned, Inspected and Administered correction of individual actions as required.
