Daily Duties at Wal Mart Distribution Center:
Purchase supplies needed to help employees be successful while maintaining the monthly budget. Responsible for 3 exempt reports as well as up to 60 nonexempt reports in department of responsibility. Some exposure to P and L planning and reporting. Daily monitoring of workload in building and area of responsibility. Raised monies for associates in need due to disasters by bake sales and other fundraising activities. Inspire others to participate in volunteering events. Develop and implement procedures to ensure customer quality expectations for stores. Audit proper handling, labeling, and quality to exceed customer service expectations. Review work to ensure most cost efficient methods are utilized. Monitor return of boxes from stores and from vendor to help reduce expenses on budget. Effectively communicate with members of staff on a daily basis. Resolve internal and external concerns. Interview, train, develop, coach and perform appraisal process for associates and managers. Analyze reports to accurately plan and evaluate operations within the facility. Process hazardous waste following strict procedures and guidelines including aerosols and other various chemicals. Monitor and control damage processes, including salvage, donations, and products sent to stores. Ensure proper documentation, processing and handling of all damages in the warehouse. Turn in items to vendors to ensure proper packaging to reduce damages, ensure sustainability, and product is correct. Help to enforce recycling efforts in the building by collaborating with team members and associates. Reduce dumpster pick-ups from two a month to one per month by recycling label backings implementing shrink wrap baskets throughout the modules. Discuss with team ways to cut 2 million out to the budget for the year and then implement the plan. Review housekeeping and procedures to ensure 100% compliance with all food safety guidelines. Audit product to ensure no out of date items are sent to stores.
