Daily Duties at Bae Systems:
The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Program Led the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Software (SW) technical oversight, onsite trouble-shooting, training and demonstrations of BAE Systems’ Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) at customer facilities. Managed the scope, schedule and resources for the training efforts at three Government test sites. Originally I was responsible for portions of the JLTV C4ISR electronics’ detailed design, procurement, integration, and testing. After delivery of the vehicles to our customers, I transitioned and expanded my role to become the lead BAE Systems C4ISR representative to our customers. As part of this responsibility, I developed training materials, presented them to the users, and resolved technical issues at the military test facilities. -May 2010 - Conducted on-site training for JLTV at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona. The C4ISR training classes included a classroom informational and a hands-on training session for the Vehicle Management Computer System operation and disk care during use, radio & situation awareness access and control, and overall system familiarization for the Drivers and Mechanics. -December 2010 – Successfully set up the Santa Clara SIL for a proof of concept test. Configured a Government hard drive in for FBCB2 Marine EPLRS in order to support text based communication between a vehicle and a base station. -January 2011 - led a classroom and hands-on version of the C4ISR class for gunners and commanders of the 82nd Airborne Division during the Army User Evaluation. Configured another hard drive for FBCB2 Marine EPLRS and communicated between the command and control on the move vehicle and a base station during the Army User Evaluation vehicle convoy. -Feb-May 2011- Represented the company in Australia at the User and Vehicle Evaluations at meetings with representatives from the Defense Science and Technology Organization (DSTO) with the Australian Department of Defense at Puckapunyal Army Base. Reviewed systems integration practices, vehicle networking topology, radio capabilities, and to discuss the application of our system to the Australian’s needs. Conducted a classroom and hands-on C4I brief based on specific requests from the DSTO. This led to the completion of two Project Milestones: the Stage 2A Static User Trial and Stage 2B User Evaluation for the JLTV Project. -June-July 2011-Engineering Manufacturing and Design Phase Initiated the Engineering Manufacturing and Design Phase of the Program by creating a work breakdown structure as the major input into the team budget and cost justifications for the C4ISR team’s short-term spending plan. Developed a responsibility matrix as a research and development spending and Subcontractor Management tool. Captured bi-monthly Earned Value for the integrated product team.
What they like about Bae Systems:
You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
